Just Another TROPHY, or NOT.

we'd put a beautiful Comma to our "NPCC career", to borrow a phrase from Dan.
[its a comma, 'cos our Friendship and memories doesn't end here. =')]

i rmb shuu saying "this Area Games Day ah...im 99.99% sure we won't retain the Championship!"
and we'd agreed too.
But before we know, we're the Champ again.

What accounts for this consecutive winning?
It's our burning passion for NPCC and our own squad.
think it sounds pretty mushy but that's true, at least, for me.

shall briefly talk about ytd before going on reminiscing last four years---again.

firstly, it was about Street Soccer.
as unluncky as last year, we lost.
i repeat: Unlucky.
our Soccer Guys are great, really great.
They intended to skip remedials just to come here,
and that's when they deserve our first round of applause.

But they lost because of people with no integrity, people who so badly wanted to win, people who used unscrupulous means.
We all knew how bad they were feeling.
it's not their fault at all right?
They'd tried their best.
Another round of applause please.

THANKS to our Soccer Guys... you're great!
love all of you.

and, oh.. LHS please take good care of your wound =')

then it's TUG-OF-WAR!!!
the most exciting game always.
i mean, if we have SJC as our opponent.
the most adrenaline-pumping match ever;
with our reputation at stake. LOL.
[so exaggerated]

well.. didn't get to see the big fight 'cos i'd to play Captain's Ball.
but Becca was sweet enough to help me record.
at least i got to see how hard they Fought.
i saw ZhenHui and Serene almost sliding down....
ma'am Shareen and all others pulling with all their might.
This is the magic of Tug-Of-War.

I used to think:
why fight over that rope?
But now i've realised it signifies more than just Who Pulled Who Over,
Instead, it tells us we've to fight hard AS A TEAM in order to have what we want to our side.
Tuggie is cool.

and of 'cos,
Thanks to SJC's efforts in putting up such a good show.
and Congrats to NCHSNPCC Tuggies again!

ytd was the first time in the Four years that im playing Captain's Ball for our Unit.
ha.
i had totally NO confidence. i was afraid of making the Unit lose and all...
But it was their encouragement, their pats on my shoulder that finally motivated me to give it a try.
and i know Bao was really very worn out. I LOVE MY GIRLS.

i didn't care how messy my hair was, how ugly i looked when i swore under my breath when we missed a catch.
all we were aiming for was to score and score and score, to defend and defend and defend.
we were playing
for our Unit,
and for our soccer guys.
we want the dignity back.

all were breathless and tired when we were at the very final match with Holy.
But i told myself: CHIONG, no matter what.
Holy was really good at defending, and have TALL People.
but we managed to score three goals and WON.
We forgot how tired we were, totally. and went hugging people, cheering, screaming our lungs out.
CRAZY, you'd say.

but that was the kind of emotions you get when you win---------
when you win with your very squadmates,
those whom you had went through four years of tough trainings with.

The greatest sense of Victory doesn't come from the Trophy itself;
it came from:
How you won it.
and more importantly, Who you won it with.
i know you'll find this familiar if you've read Dan's blog already.
but that's really what i think too.

we had a reminiscing session with ma'am after the Games Day.
talking about stuffs from Sec1 till 4.

how sweet to know that we'd grown up disciplined and united.
greatest credit goes to ma'am J.

the very small happenings like rehearsing for POP Skit in 'o5.. dya still rmb?
i was our "Jocelyn Ma'am", Aaron was "Zheng Guang" that one.......
and we had JT spouting some nonsense that in the end spoilt the whole show but made everyone in the Meeting Room burst into laughter.

and about having 'brose and nyy being our First Squadleaders.

about the Nanny-System;
one person never birng Full-U, two people kena whacked!
xD

the word 'Punishment' on maam's head.

the dialling for Pizza Hut,
or the running from pillars to trees to fire extinguishers.

and, about us doing Pumping tgt with ma'am...
the sense of togetherness was so strong, so touching,
despite the blisters.

we had united to bully our Instructors...
making them devastated and had to end up having heart-to-heart talks with us....
JieSheng and Junjie.. hor?
hahas.we also had the strictest Instructor, Shawn.
ha.
we haven't forgotten you guys at all hor!

then were the ATCs.... esp the one with Area2.
ahh.. poor turtle was bullied by the childsh cadets from other schools.
you should have seen how our ma'am spoke up for him.

we had our Journals,
where ma'am and JieSheng started to see the softer sides of our Guys,
apologising and doing serious reflection for some.

then ma'am was talking about her Frienship bands we made for her long ago.
and that reminded me to talk about her making me cry so many times...
'cos she kept saying she'll be leaving and stuffs..but in the end we still stuck so tightly tgt.

i thought i would cry ytd.
i thought i would be so so so so so so sad that NPCC is over for my squad----
as in, as a squad.

BUT i wasn't.
i was contented.
i was satisfied.
i was more than glad im given a chance to experience this in my Sec Life.
i was happy that we're able to look back and say,
"Yes, we'd done our part for the Unit, and for our Own NCHSNPCCBATCH4"

i want to THANK you guys...
for staying by my side throughout,
for giving me tissues[you know i need that very often],
for giving me your hugs, during highs and lows,
for showering me with your love,
for going through rain and shine with me,
for giving me memories,
and for everything else.

what i've earned in the end of this 4-year journey,
is you people.
and i shall confess
that for every "Love, Jocelyn" in my messages,
i meant it. and i still do.

last but NOT LEAST,
JOBEL PRIZES to all my squadmates, incl. ma'amJ!!!!!!

SQUADMATES FOR LIFE!
='D

with lots and lots and lots of love,
JOCELYN.
